With the growing demand for alternative and complementary medicine, schools of homeopathy offer prospective homeopathic practitioners skills and knowledge in natural and noninvasive healthcare treatments for the 21st Century. Depending in which State or Province you reside, there are a number of accessible schools of homeopathy; in addition to homeopathic programs extended through other healing arts schools, including naturopathic colleges, and acupuncture schools.

Schools of homeopathy offer an extensive curriculum. Besides the philosophies and history of homeopathic medicine, students learn the fundamentals of health and disease, how to take a homeopathic case and analysis, the differences between conventional and alternative medicine, common first aid remedies in homeopathy, Repertory, homeopathic pharmacology, chronic disease treatments, and other associated studies. The philosophy that is taught through schools of homeopathy include seven fundamental principles: the Law of Similia (”like cures like”), Law of Simplex (Organon of Medicine), Law of Minimum (smallest, but most effective dose), Doctrine of Drug Proving (drugs proven to work on human beings), Theory of Chronic Disease (chronic disease is caused by chronic miasims), Theory of Vital Force (body, mind and spirit as one triune entity) and the Doctrine of Drug-Dynamisation (medicinal properites being “awakened” into activity from a crude state).

While schools of homeopathy vary in training hours, expect between two to four years of in-depth studies and clinical training. Much like traditional schools and universities, schools of homeopathy (in both the United States and in Canada) award graduates with a certificate or diploma upon successful completion.

Further training opportunities are available through schools of homeopathy in veterinary homeopathic medicine, as well as continuing education courses in herbal medicine, nutritional counseling, and new homeopathy research as it comes available.

Many health conditions helped through homeopathy include acute illnesses like flu, colds and ear infections, among numerous other health issues. Facilitating a variety of natural and safe health treatments like Bach Flower remedies, health and fitness regimens, and other homeopathic medicines, experienced practitioners of homeopathy help individuals by enacting innate healing abilities to combat common health disorders, and to restore wholeness and wellness.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding schools of homeopathy, let professional training within fast-growing industries like natural healing, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore schools of homeopathy near you.

CarolAnn Bailey-Lloyd asked:

Inspired by Coretta Scott-King, who chose to be treated with homeopathic medicine before her death, Dana Ullman, MPH was driven to research how many famous people and notable figures have pursued homeopathy as an alternative to conventional medicine. As the practical “gateway” to understanding the phenomenal history and influences of present day homeopathy, Ullman’s The Homeopathic Revolution: Why Famous People & Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy reveals the many aspects surrounding the origin and impact this wisdom medicine has made on an international level.

On reviewing Ullman’s book, one can clearly see the passion and knowledge driving America’s leading advocate for homeopathic medicine. For the open-minded and skeptics alike; the book invites all walks of life to discover the hidden secrets of homeopathy. For example, did you know that England’s Royal Family subscribes to homeopathic treatment? “Much like the tradition as the passing of the crown, they have been under homeopathic care since the 1830s,” says Ullman.

While it’s evident that homeopathy is widely accepted in Europe, there has been resistance to the field among the medical community in the United States. “There are several reasons for this. First, there is a ‘this for that’ medical thinking, where there is an assumption that there is ONE medicine or herb for everyone with the same disease. Homeopaths are too scientifically-minded to make this simplistic assumption. We believe that one person’s migraine is different from another’s. Further, we do not believe that any disease is local to one part of the body. Arthritis is not in the joints, heart disease is not limited to the heart, etc.,” he says. “This is not the way nature works. We treat syndromes, the complex of symptoms in which the disease is just a part and not disease. Also, we live in America where there’s a medical machismo, where increasingly stronger and more powerful drugs are used but they also have more side effects – and short-term benefits. There’s a good reason why conventional medicine changes decade to decade — it seems to provide a therapeutic effect that is more seductive (and short-term) than really curative, with some obvious exceptions.”

In his book, Ullman discusses famous celebrities and influential leaders, past and present, who have utilized homeopathic medicine, including Tina Turner, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cher, Emily Dickinson, Pamela Anderson, several American presidents, Mother Teresa, a number of Popes, and countless others.

“We have much of what we know from people like Tina Turner,” says Ullman, who credits homeopathy with curing her tuberculosis. “The reason homeopathy became popular in Europe and America is the spectacular results for treating cholera, typhoid, pneumonia, infectious diseases - our results are stellar,” he says. “Our methods are smarter and more effective at strengthening the immune system, and preventing infections, therein.”

During the early 1900s, several major corporations like General Motors (GM), General Electric (GE) and Montgomery Ward actually provided onsite homeopathic clinics for employees. “These were not just some new age people — they were very practically-minded corporate leaders,” says Ullman.

While principles of homeopathy have been around for hundreds of years, Ullman explains that the system of homeopathy wasn’t developed until Samuel Hahnemann, MD came into the picture during the early 1800s. Within the pages of Ullman’s book, one will discover that the only physician to have a monument dedicated to him in the Nation’s Capitol, (Washington, D.C.) is none other than Hahnemann.

For prospective students interested in pursuing a homeopathic career, this should be the first book interested individuals should study. With a forward written by Dr. Peter Fisher, physician to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Homeopathic Revolution: Why Famous People & Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy will certainly prove to be required reading for any intellectual literary and homeopathic medicine collection.

Joette Calabrese asked:

Bleeding to the point of hemorrhaging can be an alarming event. Homeopathy, however, has a history of aborting a bleed with unusual speed and without side effects. It does so gently, politely and firmly. The idea behind homeopathy is that our body is capable of coming to balance (health) if given the correct stimulus. This is achieved by using a remedy that is chosen, not for the disease, but rather the person who is experiencing the disease and his particular symptoms. Try one of these remedies the next time bleeding is an issue in your life.

Tooth extractions can be a source of hemorrhages and a disquieting and problematic issue in dentistry. However, with the knowledge of homeopathy , a visit to the dentist can become less traumatic for both the patient and dentist. If after an extraction when there is bleeding that seems a little over the top, a dose of Phosphorus 30 every 15 minutes until the bleeding has ceased, sets the patient in order. As soon as there is relief, the remedy should no longer be given. Instead, offer Ferr phos 6x 3-4 times each day for a day or so to insure no return.

Nose bleeds can also become hemorrhages. In this case, Phosphorus 30 can also be of use. However, a near “no-fail” remedy for most severe nose bleeds is Vipera 12c or x. If given every 15 minutes until the bleeding stops, it will often promote better health, so that a return nose bleed will not be as severe, long lasting or debilitating.

An internal hemorrhage is, of course, a matter for more extreme medical care. However, as a first aid and on route to the hospital, it would behoove the attendee to give doses of Ipecacuanha This is particularly so if the blood is gushing and true red.

When in doubt, for an internal bleed, it is often best to begin with Aconitum. This is particularly valuable when the person presents with restlessness, anxiety and agitation. Certainly, shock is a concern, so again, it is important to get the person to an emergency setting for care. After the bleeding is stabilized, however, the next remedy to use is Ferr Phos 6x given 4-5 times per day for several days to support the system against anemia.

Arnica is also reputed to address an issue of internal bleeding, so it ought to be considered for bleeding to soft parts or from a head injury.

How many times in war time settings of the past has homeopathy not failed the physician who possesses the knowledge of homeopathy? It can indeed be a life saving method. Homeopathy is a soothing solution to life’s mishaps and traumas. It’s gentle, polite method quietly removes the illness at hand and restores. What other method of medicine do you know that stops bleeding, as well as addressing the exciting cause? Homeopathy is the medicine of millions. Make it yours for the next time life is unyielding.

Sanjib Sarkar asked:

Homeopathy is the second most popular medicine in the world. However, most people really do not know too much about Homeopathy. This article will help clear up some misconceptions associated with homeopathic medicine.

1) Homeopathic medicines are nothing more than sugar pill that contain no measurable substance.

Certain homeopathic medicines have no measurable substance. However, many remedies do have measurable substances. In medicine that is 24X or 12C has no measurable substance. However, some medicine potencies such as 6X, 6C, 12X will have a measurable substance.

2) Homeopathy has never been successful in large scale well designed trials. Trials have only worked when homeopaths were doing the trials or poorly designed trials with quite a bit of author’s bias.

Trials in Homeopathy is a very mixed bag. Sometimes people are looking at the wrong information source. Many skeptics will take successful trials and point out that when looking at larger trials in the study, homeopathy does not seem to work. Although, the conclusions of the authors were that homeopathy seems to works better than a placebo.

However, some trials that were successful were fairly large. Oscillococcinum trials were quite large and well designed but still yielded a positive result in shortening the flu duration. Similar studies with Osccillococcinum were replicated as well. The idea that homeopathic remedies have never been successful in a large scale well designed trial is not true.

3) Homeopathy should not be used to treat life threatening diseases.

Homeopathy can treat life threatening diseases with the help of a well trained homeopathic physician. Also, the general medical doctor and other specialists involved in treating the disease should be included on the treatment plan. Medical doctors should always be seen if you have a life threatening illness. Homeopathy can not cure all life threatening diseases.

Many people with life threatening diseases have faired well with Homeopathy. Homeopathy malaria trials show that in trials that homeopathic medicine worked as well as conventional medicine in treating people with malaria.

4) Homeopathy and modern medicine can not work together

Homeopathy can be quite complementary to modern medicine. Many patients under going chemotherapy have seen their side effects reduced when taking homeopathic remedies. Trials with reduction of cancer treatments provided encouraging results.

5) Homeopathy, Herbal, and Ayurvedic medicine are similar.

Homeopathy, Herbal and Ayurvedic are forms of alternative medicine but these forms of medicine are not similar in any other way. Homeopathy use diluted substances to treat patients. Every medicine has been diluted in water or alcohol.

Herbal medicine is medicine based on the use of plants. Ayurvedic is an ancient system of medicine started in India that operates with the theory that all materials of vegetable, animal, and mineral origin have some medicinal value.

Ayurvedic use these materials to treat patients. Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines are used quite a bit in India so that creates some confusion in people thinking they are the same thing.

6) Homeopathy is slow to work

Acute conditions such as flu, colds, motion sickness and pain relief can be treated quickly using homeopathic medicines. Chronic conditions are slow to work because they are complicated to treat. Chronic conditions would be acne, eczema, irritable bowel syndrome and other conditions will take longer to treat.

7) Homeopathy is only for human use.

Actually, petmeds is one of the fastest growing use of homeopathic products. Homeopathy offers a safe and inexpensive way to treat your pet of acute conditions such as allergies, anxiety and joint stress relief.

8) You can get a book on Homeopathy and treat yourself.

This may be the case in acute conditions such as cold and flu. However, more complicated and chronic cases will require you to see a homeopathic doctor. Chronic cases involve generally taking quite a few remedies in the course of a treatment. A book can not tell you which homeopathic remedies to take and how much to take when your condition starts to improve or worsen.

9) Homeopathic remedies are not widely available.

This may have been true a few years ago. However, many remedies can be found pretty much all over the US. Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, Target and larger retailers carry combination homeopathic remedies for acute conditions such as cold and flu and insomnia.

Single remedies which homeopaths claim to work the best are not as readily available. These remedies can be found in health food stores, natural pharmacies or on the Internet. They are more specialized and generally most people taking simgle remedies have some homeopathic knowledge or a doctor has prescribed that medicine.

10) All homeopathic remedies work the same on all people.

Homeopathy works different on different people. Classical homeopathy treats different individuals with different remedies according to their personality type. One person may use one remedy to treat a illness, while another person would use a different remedy to treat the same illness.

Homeopathy assumes everyone is different so using the same remedy to treat everyone will not work according to Classical Homeopathy principals. Modern medicine generally gives everyone the same medicine for general conditions.

Juliet Cohen asked:

Hemorrhoids also called piles. Hemorrhoids are dilated or bulging veins of the rectum and anus, caused by increased pressure in the rectal veins. Hemorrhoids are common. In the USA, the prevalence is about 4.4%. It is estimated that approximately one half of all Americans have had this condition by the age of 50, and that 50% to 85% of the world’s population will be affected by hemorrhoids at some time in their life. Hemorrhoids may result from straining to move stool. Other contributing factors include pregnancy, aging, chronic constipation or diarrhea, and anal intercourse. There are two kinds of hemorrhoids: internal and external.

Internal hemorrhoids are pretty innocuous. The almost popular symptom of domestic hemorrhoids is sunny crimson blood covering the feces, on bathroom newspaper, or in the bathroom bowl. However, a domestic hemorrhoid may bulge through the anus outside the system, becoming annoyed and traumatic. This is known as a jutting hemorrhoid. External hemorrhoids induce most of the symptoms we usually learn about pain, combustion, and itching. Medical handling of hemorrhoids is initially aimed at relieving symptoms. Application of crude jelly, cortisone creams, hemorrhoidal ointment or suppositories to the stricken region.

The better manner to forbid hemorrhoids is to hold stools tender so they give well, therefore decreasing force and straining, and to abandon bowels as shortly as potential after the impulse occurs. Exercise, including walk, and increased fibre in the diet assistance cut impairment and straining by producing stools that are softer and easier to give. Homeopathic remedies can offer gentle, safe relief for treating hemorrhoids. Calcarea fluorica may be indicated for hemorrhoids with bleeding and itching in the anal region, or internal hemorrhoids causing soreness in the very low back and sacrum. Aloes is also a most useful haemorrhoidal remedy.

It is indicated where the piles protrude like a bunch of grapes, bleeding often and profusely, and are greatly relieved by the application of cold water. Eating fiber-rich bulking agents such as plantain and Psyllium seed husks to help create a softer stool that is easier to pass, to lessen the irritation of existing hemorrhoids. Pulsatilla may be helpful in cases where the hemorrhoids are bleeding, painful, and itchy. They may be protruding, and individuals may feel worse when lying down. Roman Chamomile herb may reduce inflammation associated with hemorrhoids. Goldenrod used topically in traditional erbal medicine to reduce inflammation of hemorrhoids.

DR HARSHAD RAVAL MD HOMEOPATHY asked:

The state of patient with end stage renal failure or progressive reversible chronic renal disease is very pathetic not only for the patient itself but also for the family and society as a whole.

The individualised homoeopathic therapeutic modality considering the patients psychological presentation is very important. Homoeopathy does wonders here and has prevented a large number of cases progressing to Hemodialysis and Renal Transplant.

The usual presentation of C.R.F. in Homeopathic hospital includes:

1. Homeopathy treatment Patients with just diminished renal reserve.

2.Homeopathy manage Patient with End Stage Renal Failure pending Hemodialysis and Renal Transplant.

3. Homeopathy Patient already on long term Dialysis pending Renal Transplant.

4. Homeopathic Management Complications in dialysis

5. Homeopathy prevents Post Renal Transplant Patients.

1. Homeopathy treatment Patients with just diminished renal reserve.

This is the best field for us to work but unfortunately, the number of cases presenting at this stage are very few. The individualized homoeopathic treatment does wonders here and has prevented a large number of cases progressing to stage of dialysis or renal transplant.

The usual symptomatic presentation at this stage is vague with patients mostly complaining of nausea, anorexia and progressive weakness. The laboratory renal parameters are also not very seriously disturbed. The evolution of individualised totality comprising of the mental sphere, habits, past and family history require lots of patience and labor but the results are marvellous.

Homoeopathy has already done a yoeman service to the society here as hemodialysis and renal transplant are not within easy reach of majority of population in under- developed countries.

2.Homeopathy manage Patient with End Stage Renal Failure pending

This is the group of cases with maximum presentations in the clinics. Majority of these cases come to homoeopathic rescue as a last resort as they can’t afford long-term dialysis and transplant.

The other small group of patients want to know the benefits of Homoeopathic treatment over dialysis and if Homoeopathic treatment be carried along with Hemodialysis? The clinical judgment is individualized and varies for every patient. Remember the correlation of uremic symptoms with renal functions varies front patient to patient.

3.Homeopathy Patient already on long term Dialysis pending Renal Transplant.

Homeopathy has a great role to play here. Research experiments in various hospitals reveals the following facts :

(a) Indicated homoeopathic remedies reduced the number of dialysis needed over a period of time.

(b) Indicated homoeopathic remedies reduce and overcome the complications associated with chronic dialysis therapy.

4. Homeopathic Management Complications in dialysis

Remember a chronic dialysis patient depends on a machine for his life. These patients develop a variety of psychiatric, neurologic and somatic disorders. A neurologic disorder ‘Dialysis dementia’ is a characteristic example.

In the mental sphere, these patients become very depressive, their reduced physical abilities make them sad and depressive

They become very irritable like

They know that they have to depend on others, they tolerate and do not express the frustration like

In the physical sphere infections, thrombosis and aneurysm formation occur in the Arterio-venous fistula. There is a high incidence of septic embolisation in these cases. The homoeopathic remedies Arnica, have immensely helped these cases.

Heparin necessary during the hemodialysis procedures to prevent clotting leads to complications such as subdural hematoma and intracerebral hemorrhage. Arnica and different well-proved snake poisons in our Materia Medica are of great help here. .

5. Homeopathy prevent Post Renal Transplant Patients.

The group of patients coming for homoeopathic advice after Renal Transplant is very limited. Homeopaths have very little experience with these patients and the results are not very encouraging. Most of the symptoms here are marked and distorted by immune-suppressive therapy. Immuno-suppressive therapy suppresses all immune responses and hence Homoeopathic treatment has not much role to play in organ rejection of transplant cases.

.We have observed that those cases with renal failure, being put on Dialysis and if they receive homoeopathy medication simultaneously, they require less frequent dialysis and their quality of life improves.

Sanjib Sarkar asked:

Homeopathy has been around 200 years and invented by Samuel Hannehman. Homeopathy was introduced in India by Dr. John Martin Honigberger from Transylvania in 1839. He was actually in Lahore to treat the maharaja’s horses who were suffering from leg ulcers. The maharaja was impressed with the results of this type of treatment. Maharaja Ranjit lated asked the homeopath to treat him for paralysis of vocal cords and oedema. The maharaja was quite satisfied with the treatment which cured his paralysis.

Homeopathy continued spreading in India since 1839. Every major city in India has pharmacies dispensing homeopathy medicine. Many states in India also have homeopathy colleges teaching this type of alternative medicine to prospective students. Currently there are 186 homeopathic medical colleges in India. 37 of these colleges are government run. The other colleges are privately run.

The Indian government created the Central Council Of Homeopathy which requires uniform education at the graduate level and diploma level in homeopathy. This has lead to standardized practice in India preventing unqualified homeopaths to prescribe medicine and treatments. Currently, there are over 300,000 homeopathic doctors practicing medicine in India.

Homeopathic medicine is significantly cheaper than conventional drugs. This makes this type of medicine more available to India’s population many of whom do not have access to prescription drugs. Homeopathy is the third most popular medicine in India after allopathy and ayurveda. Approximately, 10% of the population in India uses homeopathy. This makes India the largest consumer of homeopathy medicine in the world.

India has become the mecca of homeopathic research. There are over 37+ homeopathic research centers in India carrying out various types of clinical trials. The government helped form many of these reseach centers.

Some of this research includes Dr. Prasanta Banerji & Dr. Pratip Banerji scientific papers on brain cancer. This research was collaborated with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The study showed that Ruta 6C and Calcarea Phosphorica 3X helps to kill cancerous brain cells but does not damage normal brain cells or fuctions.

The Banerji family has also been successful in treating other type of cancers as well. Their clinics in Calcutta will see 1000 people per day. Their cancer success rate is between 30 to 40%.

Homeopathy is an accepted form of medicine by the Indian government. It is generally regarding in the same light as allopathic medicine. India is one of the few countries that generally accepts homeopathy.

Jim Pretin asked:

You may have heard of “homeopathy” but you are not sure what it is. Simply put, it is a system of medicine that treats a condition with highly diluted natural substances that mimic the symptoms of the condition being treated. This concept seems paradoxical to most.

Homeopathy is a difficult concept to grasp. How do you cure someone of an illness by giving them a tiny concentration of something that can actually cause the disease? One would think that this would simply make the person even more sick.

But, according to proponents of the science, homeopathy not only works, but is much more effective than conventional medicine. They claim that conventional medicine only suppresses the immune system and prolongs the illness.

There are actually quite a few homeopathic products in your local pharmacy. The FDA requires that homeopathic products indicate what kind of product it is somewhere on the packaging. The easiest way to tell what kind of product you are buying is by examining the list of ingredients on the back or the on the side of the packaging.

With homeopathy, all of the ingredients are diluted, so each ingredient in such a product has the letter “X” after it. So, if one of the ingredients is “Zinc 20X”, that means the product contains Zinc that has been diluted 20 times. One of the most popular cold medicines on the market, “Zicam,” is actually a homeopathic remedy that consists of diluted zinc in the form of a nasal gel.

There are homeopathic remedies available for almost every condition. Cold, flu, allergy, even bedwetting; there is a homeopathic remedy available for almost every condition.

Homeopathy is universally recognized as being safe, as the ingredients used are natural substances diluted many times over. Because there is such a small concentration of the ingredients, many opponents of the science, including the drug companies that make conventional medicines and are afraid of the growing popularity of natural medicine, claim that any relief an ill person receives after using a natural product is the result of the placebo effect.

Since the FDA does not require most natural products to undergo clinical testing before being sold to the public, the detractors feel that it does not actually work. So, who is telling the truth? Does homeopathy really work or is it a bunch of nonsense?

In my opinion, it works. There have been several clinical trials done over the years to test the efficacy of homeopathic products. Liddell Laboratories makes a product called Vital HGH. Vital HGH is designed to treat the symptoms of aging and/or a rundown condition.

In a small clinical trial performed years ago, a group of test subjects who were deficient in human growth hormone, ranging in age from 45 years and up, were given the Vital HGH formulation. The results speak for themselves. During the five month clinical trial, the levels of HGH in the blood increased in every test subject, and more than doubled the average level of HGH.

Homeopathy does work. I speak from personal experience. I used such a remedy to deal with the allergy attacks I was having, and the medicine not only stopped the attacks faster than the Claritin I had been taking previously, but it also prevented subsequent allergy attacks.

So, why is there a controversy? Well, there is a public perception that homeopathy is the same thing as holistic healing or faith-based medicine. This is simply not accurate.

Homepathy and natural medicine in general make big drug manufacturers worry that such products might be more effective for treating common illnesses as opposed to the more expensive prescription versions that make the pharmaceutical companies rich. Most natural products are incredibly cheap. A prescribed conventional medicine costs a lot more.

If the public began demanding natural remedies to treat their ailments, drug companies would have to make these kinds of products to stay in business, and then their profits would shrink. Imagine if Pfizer had to stop manufacturing Viagra, which they sell at $20-$30 per pill, and instead make a homeopathic product that would retail for only $20 for a one month supply.

This is why drug companies often spend significant amounts of money to debunk claims that homeopathy works, using a wide variety of misinformation tactics to instill a belief in the public that natural medicine is is not effective for treating common ailments.

I am not saying that you should discontinue the use of conventional medicines. But, next time you go to the pharmacy, take a look at some of the natural brands on the shelf and give them a try. For common ailments that are not life threatening, a homeopathic product is probably a cheaper and more effective alternative.

Sharon Dobson asked:

Choosing Crohn’s-friendly foods isn’t the only way a sufferer can improve their condition, other treatments such as homeopathy crohns relief may also be beneficial for some. Homeopathy is a unique type of remedy that treats the person as a whole. Therefore, the type of remedy that is prescribed is based on a person’s mental and physical wellbeing. The treatments administered focus on ridding the person of their specific problems. Thus, no two people will be provided with the same treatments.

In order to receive proper homeopathy crohns treatment, you will need to visit a qualified homeopath to have your condition properly accessed. That being said, the following are five examples of homeopathic treatments you may be prescribed based on your symptoms:

Note: The vast majority of homeopathy treatments are derived from natural substances that come from minerals, plants and animals. A remedy is made by diluting the natural substance through a specific process without destroying its healing properties. Most remedies are extremely diluted, taken orally, and are available in tablet, pellet or liquid forms.

Argentum nitricum: This homeopathic crohns remedy is administered to those who suffer from an upset digestive system that is also accompanied by nervousness and/or anxiety. Such a person often experiences symptoms of nausea, bloating, tummy rumbling, flatulence and sudden, intense diarrhea with a greenish hue. Diarrhea may suddenly occur after eating excessive salty or sweet foods or directly after ingesting water. In addition, a person prescribed this treatment is also likely to be impulsive, expressive, and suffer from claustrophobia issues.

Asafetida: This homeopathy crohns substance is given to those who feel as if their entire digestive tract is constricted. The individual may feel as though they have a lump moving upwards from the stomach or have a bubble in their throat. Their abdomen generally feels inflated; however, the person has difficulty passing gas for relief. This person likely has painful bouts of constipation, explosive cases of diarrhea, and possibly regurgitates small amounts of food. This individual may have strong emotions and is quick to become worked up.

Colocynthis: An individual who is experiencing sharp pains and cramping in their abdomen or pubic bone that urges them to bend double or lie down is often prescribed this homeopathy crohns. The pain that is experienced usually worsens before diarrhea passes, after drinking water or eating fruit. Many of these symptoms are also triggered by emotions, especially anger.

Lilium tigrinum: This is usually administered to a person who is constipated throughout the day but is plagued with sudden diarrhea the next morning. This person tends to feel as if there is a lump in their rectum that feels worse when they stand. This person may develop haemorrhoids, and experience tightening in their chest. The symptoms are often triggered by strong emotions, and excitement that often accelerates into feelings of irritability or rage.

Podophyllum: This remedy for homeopathy crohns is often prescribed to those who suffer from abdominal pain and cramping, and have a sinking, empty feeling in their gut that is followed by very loose, and watery, foul-smelling diarrhea. The person may also experience constipation or bowel movements that feature pasty, yellow stool with mucus. This individual tends to feel worse in the early hours of morning and later feel weak, faint or headachy afterwards. An individual who suffers from these symptoms may also experience stiff joints and muscles.

Homeopathy crohns is generally safe when administered by a professional, especially remedies that have been extremely diluted. However, it is not uncommon for a person to feel worse during treatment. This usually only occurs for a brief period and is usually not uncommon. However, extreme or prolonged side effects such as worsening or no relief from symptoms should be brought to the attention of your health care provider.

Although homeopathy may be an ideal complimentary form of treatment for Crohn’s, it should not replace a doctor’s advice. In addition, if you have a serious case of Crohn’s with persistent symptoms, you may require medical aid for relief and to get the condition under control. Therefore, make sure you consult your health care provider about homeopathy crohns treatments before you begin.

Matthew Hick asked:

Homeopathy is an alternative system of medicine, which was founded in 1789 by German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. It was very popular at this time, but with the dawn of modern medicine, its popularity declined. However, the 1980’s produced its revival. It is now the second most widely used medicine in the world.

Homeopathic remedies are popular due to a variety of reasons. First of all, they are considered safe and contain natural ingredients. They are not addictive and work in harmony with your immune system. The remedies treat all the symptoms as one. Many believe it is a very effective form of treatment.

Practitioners of homeopathic medicine think that a disease can be cured by a medicine that produces the same symptoms in a healthy person that the sick patient is experiencing. For example, Ipeca is known to induce vomiting, but in a diluted version it controls nausea and vomiting. Homeopathic remedy believers advocate a single remedy, in minimal doses, for all symptoms.

The downside to this medicine is the interview process that a practitioner must do with the patient. It is very lengthy, as the symptoms need to be established. The patient will be asked many questions. The remedies are selected based on the whole person, including symptoms, lifestyle, and mental and emotional state. Prescribing remedies is a slow and tedious process that requires time and patience.

Critics of this medicine believe most of its remedies are so diluted, that they couldn’t possibly have any effect on ailments. They liken it to a placebo effect. The homeopathic community believes the more diluted the medicine, the more effective it will be. They refer to the phenomenon of hormesis, where diluted substances have quantifiable and intense effects. They think the remedies work more on a spiritual plane than a physical one. They believe it is the energy from the remedy that stimulates the healing process, and think that people have a “vital force” or self-healing response within themselves. Health problems occur when this power is disrupted. The idea is to activate the body’s own healing forces. These remedies are known to stimulate the body’s natural defenses.

Homeopathic remedies are made from plant, animal, or mineral extracts and are named from the ingredients from which they are derived. The patient gets the remedy and dilutes it in water by shaking it forcefully. It is believed the person will experience relief not only from temporary disorders, but will also experience a long term healing effect on their whole body.

Research studies on homeopathic remedies have proved to be contradictory. There is no scientific verification explaining how these remedies might work. According to the FDA, these remedies must meet certain legal standards. Practitioners must list the indications for the medicine’s use as well as the ingredients, dilutions, and instructions for safe use. However, these medicines are not required to undergo the vigorous testing and review of the FDA, as are new prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
